AIBE previous year question papers
The Bar Council of India Trust publishes the question paper and the answer key after each examination. Get them from the source rather than from a reseller — sets differ, and a mis-typed key is worse than no key.
Said plainly
We do not host the official papers. They are the Bar Council's work and theirs to publish. What we do instead is analyse them and write practice in the same shapes — which is the part that actually helps.
What the last paper actually tested
We took the format census of a recent paper. Just over half was plain single-fact recall. The rest was not:
| Format | Share |
|---|---|
| Plain single-fact recall | 52% |
| "Which of the following is not true" | 11% |
| Case-name recall | 11% |
| Applied scenario, long stem | 9% |
| Assertion and Reason | 6% |
| Multi-statement (I, II, III) | 5% |
| Statement with two Conclusions | 4% |
| Statement I / Statement II | 4% |
Nearly half the paper was reasoning, not recall. Most preparation material is built entirely of one-line recall questions, which is why candidates meet these formats for the first time in the hall.
What to do with a past paper
- Sit it under the real clock — 3 hours 30 minutes, bare acts open, phone away.
- Mark it against the official key, then count the blanks separately from the wrong answers. Blanks are a pace problem, not a knowledge problem.
- Record which bare act you were in when you ran out of time. That is your tabbing weak spot.
- Do not re-sit the same paper. You will remember the answers, not the law.
