Passing marks

AIBE passing marks out of 100

45 for General and OBC. 40 for SC, ST and PwD. There is no rank, no percentile, and no cut-off that shifts with how the cohort performed.

What this actually means

Fifty-five questions can go wrong and you still qualify. The task is not to master a hundred marks of law — it is to secure forty-five of them reliably, and the two are very different preparations.

Where 45 marks are easiest to find

Four subjects carry 38 of the 100 marks between them:

SubjectMarksRunning total
Constitutional Law1010
CrPC & Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita1020
Code of Civil Procedure1030
IPC & Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita838
Evidence Act & Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam846
Contract, Specific Relief, Property & NI Act854
Family Law862

The top eight subjects carry 67 marks. Securing most of those and guessing the rest clears 45 comfortably — and there is no negative marking to punish the guess.

Answer everything

A blank scores the same as a wrong answer: zero. It simply forfeits the chance of a mark. Every blank on your sheet is a mark you chose not to attempt.
